International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB)

Summary: The U.S. National Committee (USNC) for the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) represents the interests of U.S. biochemists and molecular biologists in the IUMS, a member of the International Council for Science (ICSU). The USNC/IUBMB works closely with the Union, the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and the American Chemical Society’s Biological Chemistry Division to promote the biochemical and molecular sciences in the United States and internationally through research, workshops, and publications. The committee supports the growth of biochemistry and molecular biology through: -Initiating, facilitating, and coordinating research and other scientific activities that involve international cooperation, -Ensuring discussion and dissemination of results of international cooperative research through support for international conferences, symposia and meetings, and the publication of their reports, and -Networking with other international organizations that affect the advancement of biochemistry and molecular biology.
