Industrial Ecology: U.S.-Japan Perspectives (1994)

Summary: The US National Academy of Engineering convened a three-day US-Japan Workshop on Industrial Ecology in March 1993. The purpose was to exchange information, assess promising technological approaches and management strategies to be harnessed for environmental and economic benefit, and identify potential areas of collaboration. The workshop illustrated that despite many of the contrasts between the US and Japan, the technological approaches to environmental concerns are strikingly similar.
